Not a nice day outside here in Saint John, N.B. today as it's raining but on to a little bit of positive news.
On a positive note the Province of New Brunswick went 8 days in a row with no new cases and have lifted some restrictions that were in place. Over time we will be able to get out those fishing rods, golf clubs and enjoy some of our outdoor activities that we were really missing due to the pandemic. Remember to Social Distance and follow the rules in place. They also introduced a two household bubble, carpooling, and some other things.
Flatten the curve and let's see how Phase 1 goes because we still have a long road ahead of us before the new normal is 100% in effect.
This will all be a distant memory and we can all look back and say remember 2020 of how the world was basically shut down.
It's a day of mourning for fallen Const. Heidi Stevenson & other innocent victims killed in #NovaScotia. Please join with everyone throughout Canada by wearing Red today. #NovaScotiaStrong #WearRedFriday #RCMPNeverForget
Short and sweet, and to the point.
Find the hope. Find the joy.
We are missing lots of small, and not so small things, but there are people making the best of it.
Pandemic brides are a thing right now. Getting married in little, super private ceremonies and postponing their dream weddings. Birthday parades are happening, where family member decorate their cars to drive by and give some joy to the birthday girl or boy who can't celebrate with them.
Ways to make it work are visible if you search for the happy.
The sun is shining! Follow its lead!
Catena Jobs Plus Skills & Development clients volunteer 5 days a week throughout the community and due to this pandemic are not able to continue. We would like to at this moment to thank the following groups for allowing us to do this each day and can't wait to get back once this all is over:
Our hearts lie with our neighbours in Nova Scotia.
While we are already facing a pandemic and rules and regulations many of us have never witnessed before, our neighbouring province faces tragedies we have unfortunately seen.
This happens too often in this day and age and there are no words to explain it. It's scary and at the same time you witness a community, a province, a country band together. When faced with senseless violence, the only thing we have is each other.
Reach out to loved ones, it's hard not being with them but conversations still help. Remember that children will hear things on the news and don't have their normal routines and friends to talk to. You are their whole routine right now and they may need to talk.
Our prayers are with those who've lost their lives, and those who kept so many others safe.
Let's have a little bit of fun today and post about what happened on April 17th through history, who celebrates a birthday with you, and couple other categories.
It's National Cheeseball Day(depending where you search) yummy.

We hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend. There was some nice weather, food and fun to be had if you were looking for it.
Some of our staff found online card websites and had a social online gathering through video chat. A local art party provider hosted an online paint night - and has announced they'll host more. Lots of families still had Easter dinner - by making it and doing deck drop offs or driveway drop offs and face timing with family.
It is a difficult time, but there are things to be done to keep connected with friends and family. It's not easy, but a necessity as numbers continue to climb when we need them not to.
Remember to limit your time at stores. Use delivery and pick up services when you can, and support local.
Together we will pull through this.
As we move into Easter we'd like to discuss feelings for this holiday weekend.
It's hard. Hard to be separated from family and friends during a time when we are usually the closest. We feel this with you, as a community this is not something we've dealt with before.
This shall pass. There will be a time when this will be a memory we discuss at Easter dinner, 'remember that year we couldn't even leave our houses'.
Some ideas to get you through this weekend:
-Video chat with friends, play a game online with them.
-Plan to make dinner at the same time as your family and video chat while you all eat.
-Drop off some treats and surprise those you love. A sort of Ding, Dong, Dash if you will.
-Breathe. It's not easy and you need to take a minute to acknowledge that.
We hope you have a good long weekend. Make the best of it.
Staff of Catena Jobs Plus

Working from home they said.
It's a beautiful day to grab that lawn chair and drink of choice and head on outside to get some fresh air and relax under the sun while taking in another beautiful day. Learning and activity packages were all delivered yesterday and what better way than to do them outside today.
Hello once again. It's a beautiful day outside and what better way than starting up the bus and deliver activity packages to clients who requested to have them sent home to keep our individual active or something to do while getting through this episode.
All packages were completed and delivered following the guidelines that were recommended for everyone to follow.
Have a good night and don't forget to visit our website everyday as we will post a new thing each day.
For anyone who is looking to get any custom products completed for a special someone or anything please reach out to our sales rep for more details.
Catena Jobs Plus staff are here everyday for our clients. We miss everyone. The hallways are empty and will soon be filled once we get passed this situation that has happened. Continue to reach out to us anytime and we are in this together. Stay safe.
Catena Jobs Plus Skills & Development staff are hoping everyone is staying safe and keeping active to the best of their ability during this situation. We are working hard during this closure reaching out to each client on a daily basis. We have several options available either through phone conversations, Zoom video chat, Facebook chat or video plus any other available resources to keep them connected with staff or other individuals who attend the center on a daily basis.
Please check our blog daily as we will make random post to keep everyone updated if anything changes during this difficult time. Don't hesitate to contact us anytime because we will always be here for each individual through one of the resources we are currently using.
The staff are also setting up activity packages to deliver to the clients place of residence so that they can continue doing programs while they are not able to attend the center
The staff is also encouraging the clients that have facebook to let us know so that we can add them to our private group. We've created this group so that we can interact with everyone through this pandemic.
