Wow, did we ever get a lot of rain over the weekend. All that rain and the mild temperatures help nature to grow. We should start to see new plants growing and leaves starting on the trees. When you are out for a walk just take a moment and look around you, take notice of all the fresh new things that come in the spring. Not just the plants but close your eyes and listen you might even hear the birds chirping.

Today is Awkward Moments Day - I can think of lots of things I have done that turned out to be funny, such as taking a drink from a pop bottle and it spilling down my chin, like I had a hole in my chin, or stumbling over nothing and doing a dance to regain balance. At first I was embarrassed about these incidents but now I laugh. What memories do you have of awkward moments you had that are now funny. Share them with a friend and you can laugh together. Many of other people’s awkward moments where put online to share the laughter with others. If you want to laugh maybe check out some of those funny moments on YouTube.

Today is National Napping Day  - it’s the Monday after day light savings time begins, as this is the day that most people are very tired as they lost an hour of sleep during the time change.
It was once a tradition in Spain where everyone took a nap. Now it is just in some communities that they still close everything in the late afternoon for rest/nap time which they call a siesta.

Naps are not just for children; they also have many benefits to adults as well.  You can look up  the different types of napping on the website of the Sleep Foundation.

It is the day to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of women throughout the world. This day is to promote women’s equality by showing appreciation for women and by encouraging support for all women. Many organizations such as the United Nations use this day to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of ordinary women.
International woman’s day started back in 1909 when the union of ladies’ garment workers went on strike. It has been observed yearly on March 8th ever since.

I Want You to be Happy Day

"I Want You to be Happy Day" is an unselfish day. Its a thought that we wish upon others that we care for or love.
Celebrate today by doing more than wishing someone is happy. Do something to make others happy. It can start with an Ecard that will put a smile on someone's face. Other ideas include a phone call, making positive compliments, or cooking a special meal. Be creative. There are endless ways to make others happy.

Old Stuff Day
When asking someone "What's new?" or "What's happening?", how often do you hear "Nothing really, same old stuff".
Well, today, is Old Stuff Day, in recognition of this all too common response. It is suggestive of a boring time period, or a boring life style. ....how sad.
Old Stuff Day is not a day to do the same old stuff. Rather, it's a time to recognize the boring nature of your daily routine, and make some exciting changes. Find new and different activities, projects, and hobbies. Attend an event. Do something, anything, different. You will be glad that you did!
